How PVC Temporary Cofferdam Improves Efficiency of Hydraulic Engineering Construction
Hydraulic engineering construction involves a large number of underwater and waterside operation scenarios, and safe and efficient temporary water interception is the premise of smooth project progress. Traditional cofferdam construction methods have problems such as complex process, long construction period and high demolition cost, which seriously restrict the overall progress of hydraulic projects. The emergence of PVC temporary cofferdams has completely optimized the traditional water retaining construction mode and greatly improved the construction efficiency of hydraulic engineering. Made of industrial-grade thickened PVC fabric, the cofferdam has high tensile strength and strong impermeability, which can form a closed water isolation area in rivers, lakes and other water areas, providing a dry and safe construction environment for foundation excavation, pipeline laying, water conservancy maintenance and other operations. Different from rigid steel and concrete cofferdams, flexible PVC cofferdams can adapt to various irregular terrain changes, closely fit the bottom and bank of water bodies, and eliminate water leakage gaps caused by uneven ground. The modular assembly design realizes flexible combination of different lengths and heights, which can be customized according to project construction scale and water depth requirements, meeting the water retaining needs of various hydraulic engineering scenarios. In terms of construction cycle, the installation of PVC cofferdams is simple and fast, without large mechanical equipment and complex construction procedures. The whole process saves more than half of the time compared with traditional cofferdam construction. More importantly, the reusable performance of PVC cofferdams reduces the secondary investment of engineering materials. After the completion of a single project, the equipment can be recycled and reused in subsequent water conservancy projects, greatly reducing the overall construction cost of the project. Meanwhile, the PVC material is environmentally friendly and non-toxic, will not cause water pollution and ecological damage during use, and meets the green construction standards of modern hydraulic engineering. It has become a standard supporting facility for medium and small hydraulic projects, river renovation and water conservancy maintenance projects around the world.
