Production Process of Steel Gate (Sluice Gate)
This is the standard industrial production flow for steel gates / steel sluice gates, suitable for website, catalog, and technical introduction.
1. Design & Engineering
According to customer drawings, hydraulic conditions, and working pressure
Structural design, strength calculation, and watertight system design
Finalize processing drawings and technical specifications
2. Material Cutting & Preparation
Select carbon steel plate, stainless steel plate, section steel
CNC cutting, plasma cutting, or flame cutting
Surface treatment: derusting, polishing, flaw detection
3. Forming & Bending
Steel plate bending for gate frame and leaf
Press forming of curved or flat gate panels
Ensure dimensional accuracy and flatness
4. Welding & Assembly
Automatic welding and manual welding for main structure
Welding inspection: ultrasonic testing (UT) or visual inspection
Assembly of gate frame, panel, stiffeners, and support parts
5. Machining
Milling and planing of sealing surfaces
Drilling and tapping for connection parts
Ensure high precision for watertight fit
6. Fitting of Seals & Components
Install rubber seals (EPDM, nitrile rubber, etc.)
Mount guide wheels, rollers, lifting lugs, and accessories
Adjust opening and closing clearance
7. Surface Treatment
Sandblasting to reach Sa2.5–Sa3 grade
Primer and topcoat painting for anti-corrosion
Stainless steel gates: pickling, passivation, polishing
8. Inspection & Testing
Dimensional inspection
Strength and rigidity inspection
Watertight test (water pressure test)
Opening and closing test
9. Packaging & Delivery
Wooden box or steel frame packaging
Marking and shipping documents
Delivery to construction site or port
