Quality inspection process of steel sluice gates
Quality Inspection Process of Steel Sluice Gates
1. Raw Material Inspection
Check material certificates (MTC) for steel plates, profiles, and stainless steel.
Verify material specifications, thickness, and mechanical properties.
Visual and dimensional inspection of incoming materials.
2. Dimensional Accuracy Inspection
Check overall length, width, height, and installation dimensions.
Inspect flatness, straightness, and perpendicularity of the gate body and frame.
Compare with approved drawings and technical requirements.
3. Welding Quality Inspection
Visual inspection for cracks, porosity, undercut, and incomplete fusion.
Ultrasonic testing (UT) or magnetic particle testing (MT) for key welds.
Check weld appearance, reinforcement, and uniformity.
4. Machining & Sealing Surface Inspection
Inspect finish and flatness of sealing surfaces.
Check machining accuracy of mating parts, guide rails, and mounting holes.
Ensure tight fit between gate leaf and frame.
5. Seal & Accessory Inspection
Inspect type, hardness, and installation of rubber seals (EPDM, NBR, etc.).
Check installation of rollers, guide blocks, lifting lugs, and connecting parts.
Test flexibility of opening and closing movement.
6. Surface Treatment & Anti-Corrosion Inspection
Check sandblasting grade (usually Sa2.5 or higher).
Inspect paint adhesion, thickness, uniformity, and appearance.
For stainless steel gates: check passivation and polishing quality.
7. Assembly & Operating Performance Test
Test gate opening, closing, and positioning.
Check smooth operation, clearance, and alignment.
Verify matching with manual, electric, or hydraulic actuators.
8. Watertightness / Leakage Test
Perform water pressure test or water sealing test.
Check for leakage at sealing surfaces.
Ensure zero or qualified leakage rate according to standards.
9. Final Comprehensive Inspection
Final check of appearance, dimensions, function, and markings.
Complete inspection report and quality certification.
Final confirmation before packaging and delivery.
